DEGREE CURRICULUM
Classes are normally 3-4
days/nights per week. Day Classes are normally from 10 AM - 1:00
PM or 2-5 PM; Night classes 6:30 - 9:30 PM. Lab time
is scheduled in six hour slots - 10 AM - 4 PM (day classes);
6 PM - Midnight (night classes)

To insure personal attention the class is limited to 30 people.
Program
Objectives
In
the Associate Degree Program each student will:
- Develop
strong learning skills that build the confidence needed
to face professional and personal challenges, and to master
continually changing media technologies.
- Gain first hand knowledge from industry professionals on
production techniques, music business, and the state of
the Industry.
- Learn
to perform critical analysis of various styles of recordings,
mixes and productions.
- Gain
an understanding of style preferences, and aesthetic values
of different musical cultures and an awareness of the historical
development of recording styles.
- Develop
in-depth knowledge of computers and their uses in audio
production environments.
- Develop
skills in the playing and performance of various musical
instruments.
- Become
proficient in the use of time code and the equipment used
in audio for video production.
- Acquire
a proficiency in the use and creation of media used on the
World Wide Web.
- Gain
a broad overview of the field of audio and opportunities
available in related industries.
- Create
a portfolio of work which will include music recordings,
electronic music projects, audio for video projects, and
materials created for the World Wide Web.
Degree
An Associates Degree approved by the State of California will
be conferred upon completion. The
Degree Program requires 792 hours or 40 units for completion.
